DSBN Updates FACS Protocol

Protocol SigningStudent safety is a top priority at the District School Board of Niagara. To further strengthen the supports the Board has in place to protect the well-being of students, DSBN Director of Education Warren Hoshizaki and Chris Steven, Executive Director of Family and Children’s Services (FACS) Niagara officially signed the new DSBN – FACS protocol on Monday, February 23.

The protocol, originally developed between the Board and FACS Niagara in 2000, established guidelines and procedures to support children and clarified the roles and responsibilities of both organizations. Changes to the Child and Family Services Act required that the Board and FACS update the existing protocol.

“The DSBN values its partnerships with community organizations like Family and Children’s Services Niagara,” says Hoshizaki. “This collaboration ensures that students benefit from increased social, emotional and educational supports.”
