DSBN Tech Students Rise to the Challenge

Team DSBNTechnology students at the District School Board of Niagara are once again among the very best in the province after competing at the annual Skills Canada – Ontario Technological Skills Competitions on May 4 and 5. The results represent one of the Board’s best-ever finishes at the provincial level competitions.

Held at RIM Park in Waterloo, the event hosted more than 1,500 competitors from across Ontario and drew crowds of over 30,000 spectators. “The students who took part in the provincial level competitions are coming back as role models for their peers and inspiration for next year's would-be challengers,” says Mike Doyle, Skills Development Coordinator.

“Our students worked extremely hard just to compete at this level, and can be very proud of what they have accomplished. They are outstanding representatives of the technology and co-op programs that are offered throughout the DSBN,” says Kevin Graham, Technology Consultant.

On the strength of their performance in the 2D Animation category, E.L. Crossley’s Brandon and Dylan Lepine will now join Team Ontario to compete against the best in the nation at the fifteenth annual Canadian Skills Competition in Charlottetown, PEI from May 20 - 23.
