Aboriginal Education Advisory Council (AEAC)

The District School Board of Niagara fully acknowledges the benefits of working in partnership with our Aboriginal community. Thus, we have established an Aboriginal Education Advisory Committee. This committee is comprised of Aboriginal Youth, Aboriginal Agencies, Aboriginal parents, an Elder, Post-Secondary Institutions and DSBN/NCDSB school staff. The committee formed in March 2008.

Vision Statement

"In partnership with the Ministry of Education, through the DSBN and the Niagara Catholic District School Board (NCDSB), the council will advise, consult and collaborate on how best to achieve its stated goal of providing a holistic and integrated approach to improving Aboriginal student outcomes. Furthermore, this council will help to ensure that programmes reflect Aboriginal learning styles, world views and tradition is established and maintained." (Taken from AEAC' s Terms of Reference).
